What happens in a hypnotherapy session?
First time visitors to a hypnotherapist will initially have a chat to establish exactly what they hope to achieve from the session and to get answers to any questions they might have about the process of hypnotherapy.
After that, they will be guided into a deeply relaxed state, followed by positive suggestion in order to help them towards their goals – for example, suggesting that they want stop a certain habit.
They are then gradually brought out of the trance.
It’s worth noting that you remain in full control when under hypnosis and that you don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you choose not to.
If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state at any time.
